A Charitable Winter

US2U Consulting is pleased to be able to give back to the community by supporting two charities this winter.

US2U Consulting donated to events supporting Marie Curie, the charity that provides nursing care for terminally ill cancer patients, and Red Balloon Learning Centres, who support the rehabilitation of bullied children.

US2U Consulting Director Rachel Blackburn said: "We are always eager to lend our support to good causes when we can. It is important to do what we can to help those in our community who are going through a tough time, especially over the winter period."

New Anglia: Growing Britain's Recovery

The US2U Consulting team attended New Anglia’s October 2012 business conference on making New Anglia the ‘California of Europe’.

Encompassing Norfolk and Suffolk, the New Anglia Local Enterprise Partnership conference featured a number of interesting and entertaining speakers discussing issues such as job creation, business financing and local products.

The Government Minister for Business and Enterprise The Rt Hon Michael Fallon MP told the conference that New Anglia is one of the “great growth regions of the country and will be one of the motors of our recovery.”

Rachel Blackburn, Director of US2U Consulting said: “It is great to be involved with local business leaders and politicians in the discussion of how to move our region forward.”

Fruit For Thought

US2U Consulting Director Rachel Blackburn was delighted to be asked to 'produce' a presentation on Change Management at the recent Fresh Produce Consortium HR Forum in Peterborough.

Rachel spoke about the different services US2U Consulting can offer to the fresh produce industry using her experience working with long-standing client Worldwide Fruit Ltd as a case study.

Using the successful projects with Worldwide Fruit as an example, Rachel demonstrated how the US2U Consulting team can make a positive difference in many aspects of businesses in the industry, from senior management and team leader development through to managing diversity.

Developing For The Future

We have built on our recent developments by hiring a Marketing Coordinator to take on some of the responsibilities within the office.

US2U Consulting will benefit from the extra manpower and ideas at this time, as well as helping to inspire a young graduate beginning his career.

Stuart Taylor, a BA (Hons) graduate of the University of East Anglia has joined the US2U Consulting team to gain experience working in a busy consultancy firm and is relishing the opportunity to get involved in all areas of the business.

Stuart will provide support to the team as they continue to deliver a wide range of services.

Recipe For Success

The EDP Norfolk Food and Drink Awards is locally recognised as the Oscars of the food industry.

It was great to champion the county's food and drink industry and support some of our clients.

Paul Timewell, Chairman of Blue Sky Leisure said: "Having been working with US2U Consulting recently it was nice to celebrate some local successes over a glass of wine."

Having worked with them for a few months it was a great opportunity to spend time with them and celebrate the achievements of individuals and organisations in the area. It was a very enjoyable evening spent in a great venue with great people'.

Managing Your HR Career with CIPD

Rachel Blackburn and Shaun Walton were delighted to exhibit at the recent Norfolk CIPD event 'Managing Your HR Career' held at the Oaklands Hotel in Norwich.

With 10 exhibitors and around 70 visitors to the show, the evening was a great success.

A series of three presentations were delivered that focused on the speakers' careers in HR to date as well as offering handy career hints and tips.

"It's always great to have a presence at these sorts of shows. They often prove to be of real benefit as a hub for business, networking and picking up on useful information," said Rachel.

Champagne, Madame?

We are pleased to announce that Hazel Stimpson, HR and Training Manager for Harrod UK, was chosen at random as the winner of the US2U Consulting Champagne prize draw held at the CIPD Norfolk trade show in April.

Rachel took advantage of the glorious May sunshine to hand deliver Hazel's prize to Harrod's Lowestoft facility. The drive back from the coast meant that the bottle remained sealed but we hope Hazel enjoys her prize.

"I am delighted to be the recipient of this Champagne as part of US2U Consulting's CIPD prize draw initiative," said Hazel.
