  • Norwich for Jobs Two Year Birthday Celebration

US2U Consulting were pleased to attend the celebration when Chloe Smith MP told the gathering that since Norwich For Jobs was launched in January 2013, the city’s 18 to 24 jobless total had dropped from 2,030 to 755 and 1,681 young people had found work as a result of opportunities pledged by employers supporting the campaign.

During this time US2U Consulting have employed two paid graduate interns who have both gone on to secure permanent employment in line with their aspirations.

  • Rachel Blackburn Conducts Norwich For Jobs Talk

Following the positive news that unemployment figures are continuing to fall in Norfolk, with the claimant count for the previous month dropping by 320, US2U Consulting continues to support young people in the region into employment. As part of this, Rachel Blackburn spoke at the Norwich For Jobs'Monday Support Club' held at the Department for Work and Pensions Norwich office on Monday 17 July.

The Monday Support Club is made up of young people aged 18-24 who are currently receiving benefits, but who have various mental health difficulties which are preventing them from moving forward.

When speaking about her journey prior to starting US2U Consulting, Rachel used the 'Glass Half Full' analogy to stress the importance of positivity and constant reflection. By referring to US2U Consulting's Newest Recruit Lee Casey, Rachel was able to demonstrate her work as part of the New Anglia Local Enterprise Partnership Youth Pledge Marque, and also went on to discuss the importance of goal setting and having confidence.

"This morning was a great opportunity for the attendees of the Monday Support Club to really develop their confidence moving forward. It was great to see so many people get involved in the discussions and I am confident that the practical take home messages Rachel delivered can have a lasting positive impact" commented Joanne McLeod, Norwich For Jobs Project Officer.

This talk ties into the work that US2U Consulting has been doing as part of the New Anglia Local Enterprise Partnership Youth Pledge Marque.

We look forward to continuing to support young people in the region in the future!
