Could office working be a thing of the past?

The EDP quoted Rachel Blackburn in their article about the future of working from home or in collaborative work spaces.

"I love working from my office based in a barn in the countryside. It's creative, peaceful and parking for colleagues, suppliers and customers is easy. We have three hot desks to provide a flexible working space which helps with delivering client-focused projects." said Rachel.

Building for the Future

We have been working closely with Clare College Cambridge to recruit a new Buildings Manager to provide an effective repair and long term maintenance programme for their buildings, some of which date back to 1326.

Deborah Hoy, pictured with Rachel Blackburn, Director of US2U Consulting, was appointed after a thorough recruitment and selection process. She is only the second female Buildings Manager to be appointed to such a role at a Cambridge College.

Mick Petty, Steward of the College, said "Many thanks to US2U Consulting for your help and support throughout the process of recruiting the Buildings Manager. The College community is delighted with the result and consider that we have broken new ground in the way that we recruit key members of staff. I know that other Cambridge bursars are keen to see how the whole process went, including the psychometric assessment, and I will debrief them in due course."

Deborah said "I am excited to be in my new role in such a friendly College, having the chance to lead a team to manage such a diverse portfolio of old and new buildings."
